December Favourites

Happy new year beauties! I hope you all had a great evening celebrating the end of another year!. I’m really excited to see what 2018 holds for me and this little blog of mine. I thought it would be great to end 2017 with my December favourites.

Laura Mercier foundation primer

I received this primer in my December Latest In Beauty box and have been using it non stop since, I love how this applies and I have seen a definite improvement in the finish and longevity of my foundation when using this. I will be doing a full review of this soon so keep an eye out for that!.

Essence Princess false lash effect mascara

After finding out about the brand Essence and how cheap their makeup was I decided to pick up their Princess Mascara. This is the best mascara I have ever used! I think it’s even better then the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara (and that’s saying something!). It creates full lashes that look like you’re wearing falsies!.

Ardell Brow fibre gel

This was a product that was on my Christmas list that I really wanted to try. It’s a brow gel with added fibres that make my brows (I have sparse brows at the end and in the centre) look thicker and fluffier!. I will definitely be purchasing this once it has ran out.

Makeup Revolution Soph X highlight palette

This wasn’t a new purchase for me, when it was first released I didn’t like it, the formula didn’t work as well as I’d hoped. Until I tried dipping my brush into the product and spraying it with setting spray, now it works so well and gives me the most popping highlight. I love the dark gold shade in this palette, I have been using it non stop!.

Essence Fresh and Fit foundation

Another Essence product i have been loving is the Fresh and Fit foundation. It gives a medium but buildable coverage with the most smooth and flawless dewy finish. I love how well it lasts and would work really well for those with dry skin and costs less then £5!.

Funky tassel earrings

I have been collecting tassel earrings lately, they are such a fun and stylish accessory and finish off any outfit. I can’t wait to rock these yellow ones in the spring/summer with bold prints and florals. The best part is that these were only 99p! Absolute bargain!.

Chunky knitted scarves

For obvious reasons that it has and continues to be bloody freezing in the UK at the moment, I have been loving wearing over sized ‘blanket’ scarfs. I wear them under my coat and even wrap them round myself in the car or indoors when it’s chilly in the mornings! Not to mention they look so cute on.

Tv and film

Peaky Blinders

I was a little late to this train but am so glad I caught it. I have been binging this series and am now up to date! A gritty gang series based on the on the Peaky Blinder boys and their business deals that more often then not,go wrong and drama ensues. Plus I love a brummie accent, the 1920’s fashions and Cillian Murphy is just my cup of tea *winky face*.

Christmas films

Like everyone I have been abusing my Netflix account for all their Christmas movies. My favourite this year has to be ‘Jingle all the way’ starring Arnie as a dad trying to prove himself to his son by securing him a popular action figure. With hilarious characters and the fact that everything goes wrong for him, this is the perfect film for families!.

I had the most wonderful Christmas with my family, from being spoilt rotten, watching my son open up his trampoline that I had saved to buy him, having Christmas dinner with my family and then playing board games while intoxicated with my mum and two sisters. It has been a good one but also was the first one without my grandma, who past away a few months back. If you want to see what I got up to this Christmas you can find it here.

I hope you enjoyed reading, I am looking forward to seeing what is in store for us all in 2018 and have set myself some pretty big goals. I wish the best to all you beauties on your adventures and blogging!.

November Favourites

I want to say a big hello to December, one of my favourite months for the obvious reason that it is nearly Christmas! I’ll be honest when I say that I am glad to see the back of November as it was full of trouble and anxiety for me, but that period has ended for me now and I’m feeling much clearer!. Keep reading to see what I have been loving in the month of November!.

The Body Shop Frosted Berries sugar scrub

I recently reviewed this as part of a trio, you can find this here. This was by far my favourite of the three. I love a good body scrub and this is perfect for taking away any dry skin and leaving it fresh and smelling great whilst being gentle. I definitely recommend popping into store and testing this out you will love it and the smell is so festive!.

NYX Orange colour corrector concealer jar

As someone who suffers from hereditary dark circles I find it really hard to hide them. I have been ill and under a lot of stress recently and didn’t have a great sleeping pattern so the under eye circles were horrendous. Out came this little pot of heaven. Used for colour correction as the orange counteracts blue/purple on the colour wheel. I have noticed a huge improvement when wearing this (sparingly) underneath my foundation and concealer.

Carmex Lip balm

This was recently featured in my winter skincare tips here. Chapped lips are not fun and I get them so bad that most lip balms won’t help. I cant be without it now in winter, as I find it’s the best at healing your lips quickly!. It is thicker then most balms and keeps your lips protected for hours once applied.

Brush Works HD definer complexion sponge

I like to bake my under eye area and normally use a real technique sponge to do so but I recently had to bin it. I was in my local chemist and saw this on offer and the slanted sides intrigued me. They make it so much easier to get into the eye area and on my jawline. Love this sponge for powder products and it was so cheap!

Neautriherbs Vitamin C and Hyaluronic acid serum

Another item that was featured in my winter skincare tips is this vitamin c serum with hyaluronic acid. It has really brightened up my skin and I have noticed some of my acne scarrring from my teens is starting to fade! I like to the put this on before bed under my moisturiser.

Everything 5 pounds

Getting a whole outfit for £15? Yes please. I found this website from a advertisement on google so thought I’d have a look, some of it is cheap tat but there are some really good gems on there. I bought this chunky knit jumper, (that I recently wore in my latest Outfit post) a cropped leg jump suit and these black cut out boots with star stud straps! If you live in the UK I recommend having a look!.

Festive sparkly dresses

So you may have noticed all the sparkly garments coming into stores for the festive parties and I’m all for it! I recently bought this glittery dress from Matalan and I have been wearing it casually over a tee for a cute 90s vibe.

So I couldn’t resist the temptation any longer and ended up putting up my Christmas tree in the last week of November. I needed some Christmas cheer in my flat plus the storage space to hide Christmas presents from my son!. I’m sorry you won’t find any kind of Scrooge here. Now let the gift wrapping commence!

TV and films

Disney Films

So it was slightly too early to bust out the Christmas movies for me so I opted for good old Disney movies this month to keep me busy in the evenings. My favourites being 101 Dalmatians (name a better duo then Rodger and pongo) or Mulan.

Rewatching True Blood

One of my favourite TV series when it first came out. Great and twisted story line, some really hunky men in it and very humorous. Not to mention how much I love Lafayette the sassiest queen ever R.I.P Nelson Ellis ❤️.

October Favourites

Happy November beauties.  We are now on the 3rd day of the new month now and I have loved the month of October, especially the reminder that the season gives us to get rid of the old and make room for the fresh and new. I hope this month has seen you all well too. Todays post is what I have been loving in the month of October!.

Makeup and Beauty-

Ciate Chloe Morello vol 2 palette and mascara

I recently reviewed these two products from Ciate here. This is my favourite palette of the month and I have been loving creating looks with this pigmented beauty. Also the Wonder Wand mascara that came with the set is so amazing and is my new favourite as it makes my lashes look like falsies!.

I Heart Makeup Peach and Glow blush and highlight duo

I have been loving this duo palette from bargain brand I Heart Makeup. It is a shimmer blush and highlight duo that gives my face the healthiest looking glow, is so pigmented and only cost £6. I have found it difficult to find a highlight as good as the sleek solstice palette but this is a definite contender. Plus it’s great for me to travel with as its two products in one set.

Lush Twilight Shower Gel

Picked this up as part of my Lush Christmas haul that will be in a up coming post. This has the same gorgeous scent of the Sleepy body lotion that I reviewed here. I am in love with it, such a dreamy scent and it is so relaxing to have in a bath or shower before bed. It is all I have been using lately. I will definitely be stocking up on this before it sells out over Christmas.

Freedom Primer Water

I picked this up in my recent TAM Beauty haul. It looks so much like the Smash Box primer water and I have been loving the way it makes my makeup stay in place all day. I have even noticed a major difference in how my trickier foundations apply and at the price of £6 its a definite new favourite of mine.

The return of coat season

image1 (1)

With the cold weather comes the return of the jackets and coats, I prefer the colder weather to the summer warmth, mainly because I love wearing cosy coats and I am very much enjoying getting my coats back out of storage!

I definitely jumped on the Stranger Things 2 band wagon and binged watched it, the day it came out. I am now having serious withdrawal symptoms and may even watch again!.

American Horror Story Hotel. I started re watching all of them again. Lady Gaga’s makeup and sass in this is inspirational not to mention her outfits!.

So I had my very first Five Guys at the beginning of the month and I kind of wish I was still oblivious too how good it is because I  have since been three times and I’m now addicted! (Please send help)……..

Lastly I have really enjoyed this years Halloween fun! From spooky makeup looks, makeup releases, carving pumpkins and stuffing my face with treats. Its been a good one!.

I am fully ready to embrace everything christmasy now!.

Halloween Makeup Picks

When I think of Halloween I immediately think dark smoky eyes, bold lip colours and creepy looking nails. I have put together a small selection of my favourite Halloween themed makeup to get you through the spooky season. Whether you have a Halloween party to go to or just wanting to amp up your daily look. I have included links on where to buy these items!.

Morphe 12Z Zodiac Eyeshadow Palette

This is one of my favourite eyeshadow palettes and the very first Morphe product I bought. With twelve eyeshadows that are perfect to create lots of fun eye looks, from smoky to shimmers. The pigmentation is incredible, my favourite shade is the dark teal shimmer shade (swatched below).

LA Splash Day Of The Dead liquid lipstick (Shade El Catrin)

The spooky packaging aside, this is a gorgeous metallic red, making it different from your usual every day red. It has fine specs of gold pigment and the colour pay off is amazing, especially when it hits the lights. It was included in my monthly favourites not so long ago as I adored the heart shaped applicator.

Lime Crime Perlees Lipstick (Shade Denim)

As you can see I have used this too near death (excuse the pun), this is another metallic shade but this time in a deep blue, I don’t normally have much of a excuse to wear this shade so always take full advantage on Halloween. This looks amazing with nude eyeshadow and a wing and would be great in a witchy makeup look!.

Freedom Pro Matte Lipstick (shade Noir)

I obviously had to include a purple lippie, I recently picked this up and have been loving how it has a plum hue to it and how bad ass it looks, its super pigmented and I love the matte finish. It came in a set of five that I will be doing a review of soon.

NYX Liquid Suede Liquid Lipstick (shade Vintage)

This is one of my everyday favourites for Autumn/Winter, it has a smooth and creamy formula that dries matte. I love the deep red shade and it would be perfect for creating a vampy makeup look.

If you’re not too keen on wearing dark, bold colours on your face then why not try doing something spooky to your nails?. These are the shades I have been loving recently, especially that grungy green shade.

Barry M High Shine Gelly Nail Paint (shade Plum)

Barry M Nail Paint (shade Black)

Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish (shade Downtown Red)

Seventeen Colour Carnival Nail Polish (shade Green Gold Shimmer)

What are your favourite makeup picks for the spooky season? Let me know in the comments below.

Current Skincare Routine.

This is my first ‘skincare’ routine post and I thought it’s a great time to post about my skin as it has been behaving the last few weeks  and I want to share with you beauties the products and tips that help keep my skin clear and that are helping fade my acne scars.

Before I get into everything I use/do I want to mention my skin background. When I was younger I suffered with bad acne. I was lucky enough to be on Nadifloxacin medication that helped clear it up for me but was was left with scars. I now have dry and sensitive skin that is prone to breakouts. Stress, products that don’t agree with me and the time of the month are the main culprits for why I break out.

In the morning I like to start off by using the Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Scrub to remove all dead skin, I love this as it is gentle on the skin but just enough to get all the dirt off ready for me to moisturise. I have been using this just over a year and a half now and have really noticed a difference in my old acne scars and how soft my skin is after.

I then like to follow with a oil to moisturise. If you follow my blog you will know how much I love my DIY facial oil that I created. This is packed full off goodies to plump up the skin and give it a healthy glow. It has vitamin e to help the appearance of scarring. I like to apply this five minutes before my makeup and allow it to sink in, it gives the skin a gorgeous glow and makes my foundation and concealer apply so flawlessly. I forgot to include this in the picture as I had just ran out but I also use the Nip + Fab  No Needle Fix eye cream, this is great at tightening the area and making puffy eyes less visible.

After a long day of wearing makeup I love the removal process. I start by taking the Soap & Glory  Off Your Face wipes and removing everything, making sure I go gentle around the delicate eye area. I like to use these wipes as they are quite damp so get rid of all my makeup. They also give a tingly clean feeling without irritating  my sensitive skin. Plus they smell like peppermint and peach which I love!.

Then going in with a small amount of the Elemis Pro Collagen cleanser I will massage into my face and then remove with a warm damp cotton pad, This will remove any leftover traces of makeup that the wipes didn’t take care of. I have recently started using this in my skincare routine and cant get enough of how clean and soft this has made my skin. Plus it feels like a luxiours treat every day.

I finish off with a face mask,  I cant be without the beloved Mask of Magnaminty from Lush. This mask stops me from breaking out. I have been without it for a week before and my skin turned back into a spotty mess!. It has a amazing cooling effect and is full of natural and vegan ingrediants. I found this works best if you use it every day.

Most people like to moistourise before bed but I am not too keen on doing this as my skin gets too oily overnight if I do which causes me too break out. However if I do get a nasty spot I like to dry it up using the  Mario Badescu Drying Lotion which I apply with a cotton bud and  leave on over night. I have found with my skin that doing less is more.

Derma Rolling

Once a week (normally at the start of the week) I like to derma roll my skin, which is a tool with tiny needles (ouch) that you roll across your freshly cleansed face, this helps stimulate the surface of the skin and encourage regrowth. By doing this regularly I have noticed a huge difference in my acne scars. They are fading and I think with continuous use they will soon be gone for good!. I don’t recommend using this on active breakout, acne or spots though as it will just spread gems to the rest of your face. Also make sure you clean after each use! I like to use hand sanitiser and water!.

What are your skincare must haves? Let me know in the comments below!.

September Favourites

Happy October beauties, as usual this month has whizzed past but i am not too fussed about this, mainly  because I am excited about  Halloween and i cant wait to get creative with makeup looks and outfits.  Todays post however  is a mix of things that I have been loving this September.

Pull & Bear clothing.

I have bought some trainers from the brand before and always lust over their clothes online, always worried what size I would be on their site though so never took the risk. I was recently in Bristol and was told by my sister that they have a big store there so I was so excited to go try some bits on!. I have since fell in love and now know the sizing situation and have since put in a online order!.

I love this western print ringer top. Great paired with a dungaree dress or jeans and a leather jacket. You can find it  here..

Skinny jeans are and have been a staple in my wardrobe for what seems like a age but I have really been buying into the extreme frayed hem jeans, i thought i would look silly but turns out they make you look pretty bad ass. You can find here.

Tassle earrings

Tassle earrings have been every high street clothing shop recently, not to mention on my Instagram feed. I found these cute dusky pink beauties from Primark that cost me a bargain £2! I have since bought some black ones and red and lets just say the obsession is now real.

Witchy style chokers

Another find from Primark on sale for 50p is this black velvet choker I picked up, it has silver moon, star and sun embellishments on it and I thought it would be perfect for the upcoming spooky season!.

Sleek Makeup ‘Bad Girl’ Eyeshadow Palette.

I originally bought this in a free gift scheme and I wanted a eyeshadow palette that would be perfect for nights out when I wanted a heavy smoky eye. As you can see by the colours this is definitely a night time delight. Plus look at the pigment *heart eyes*

Freedom Makeup Proartist Highlighters

Don’t let the cheap looking packaging fool you (I did throw the original box away). Here we have three pigmented highlighters. They are originally meant as pan refills to make your own palette but I mainly wanted them  because the swatches were insane, the diverse colours you get and the fact it will be easy to throw into my makeup bag when I’m travelling. Plus it was £5 for three popping iridescent highlighters.

Makeup Revolution Retro Luxe Lipkits

I recently reviewed both of these here so I wont go into too much detail but I have loving these autumnal colours and how cheap they were when you get a liquid lipstick and pencil too!.

I have quite a few spooky themed posts coming up this October in the run up to Halloween so keep your eye out for those!.

What have you been loving in September? Let me know in the comments below!.

August Favourites.

Hello September is that you? Jeez the year is going so quick. But it is soon going to be time to say goodbye to summer and start thinking about my favourite time of year Autumn! I have lots of fun blog posts planned for September. But for todays post is what I have been loving this August.

Britney Spears Fantasy Perfume 50ml

I am not a fan of Britney but I do love this perfume. I used to wear it in secondary school and as I got older moved on to different scents, I’m not the kind of girl who has a ‘signature’ scent so just pick up what I like the smell of at the time. I was in boots when I spotted someone testing this and the smell as well as the memories from my childhood made me buy it again. I am not too fond of the packaging as it looks quite tacky but I love the sickly sweet candy floss smell (I’m all for sweet scents) plus it was on offer at the time for £15. Winner!.

Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette

So this month I managed to get my hands on the sought after Naked Heat palette. I did a full review with swatches here. The colours are absolutely stunning and I have been loving creating warm smoky looks now that the weather has cooled down.

L’Oreal Paris Paradise Mascara

This is L’Oréal’s newest mascara and I have to say its all I have been using on my eyelashes. It makes them look so full and jet black, literally like falsies in a tube and the copper packaging is super cute.

Moroccan Oil Treatment

I received this as part of my picks from my July Latest in beauty box and I have been using it the last few weeks and I am amazed at how soft and shiny it has made my hair, it is so lightweight so doesn’t leave your hair looking or feeling greasy and doesn’t weigh down your hair. I have used other cheaper alternatives and really didn’t want to love this products as it is quite pricey to buy it full sized. I will be trying to make this 25ml bottle last me before I spend out on the big one! I like to use it on towelled dried hair before drying and then to smooth away any fizz after straightening.

Miracle Face Oil

Saving the best for last is the facial oil that I made. The link above will lead you to the full blog post and how to create it. This has been a complete game changer when it comes to my makeup. It creates a smooth and dewy base for you to apply your foundation. It helps make your makeup look flawless and gives a healthy glow as well as healing your skin at the same time. I also like to use a drop of this on my lips before putting a matte liquid lipstick on as it makes it last longer and not look so dry on the lips. I wont be able to live without this oil in my makeup routine now.

What are your favourites from last month? Let me know in the comments below!.
